On 29 April 2019 Rev Aaron Ironside was appointed as the Society’s Port Chaplain with additional responsibilities as National Chaplain.

For 20 years until September 2018, our Chaplain was Major David Millar, a commissioned Salvation Army Officer. 

David retired in September 2018. His retirement was marked by a function at the Seafarers centre in December 2018. <Full Story>

David was often assisted by his wife, Ofelia. A Filipina, Ofelia was often called upon to assist with welfare situations involving Filipino seafarers.

David was also the Sailors Society’s Honorary National chaplain.
